Senior Software Engineer — Commerce Platform (m/f/d)
Behind Lyto's three brands — Hey Balu, Bo & Birdie, and Famwalls — sits a proprietary commerce platform built entirely in-house: interconnected services handling order execution, supplier management, analytics, customer support, and finance. It runs on a small, senior engineering team where everyone owns what they build and the problems are always real. We're looking for a backend engineer who's comfortable with high ownership, high stakes, and systems that directly touch production.
What to Expect
- Own and evolve core backend services across order flow, supplier operations, and business intelligence
- Design and maintain MySQL schemas, optimize queries, and manage migrations at scale
- Build, deploy, and maintain Docker-based services on DigitalOcean App Platform
- Integrate third-party APIs including e-commerce platforms, payment providers, and webhook systems
- Participate in enforced code review across every service — and hold others to the same standard
- Contribute to architectural decisions on a team where your opinion actually shapes direction
What You Bring
- 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience
- Strong PHP fundamentals — frameworks and custom MVC patterns both
- Solid MySQL skills: schema design, query optimization, migrations under load
- End-to-end comfort with Docker-based deployments
- Experience integrating third-party APIs (e-commerce platforms, payment providers, webhooks)
- High standards for code quality — we do thorough, enforced code review across every service
- Low ego, high ownership — you thrive in small teams where everyone ships
